Mobility in Italy
The adventure of 7 young Portuguese students visiting Castiglione del Lago ended on 30th September 2023.
The promoters of these European initiatives were the Rosselli-Rasetti Institute, in collaboration with the Portuguese Oliveira Junior Institute from São Joao da Madeira.
From 24 to 30 September, 7 students from the two-year course, coming from the Portuguese Institute, enjoyed a week of cultural exchange with their Italian colleagues.
This initiative is part of the Erasmus+ project "Shoes Your Life" which sees students and teachers from Italian, Portuguese and Romanian schools as protagonists.
The week opened with a welcome ceremony at the ITE headquarters of the I.O. Rosselli-Rasetti. During the week, Italian students and teachers animated multimedia, IT and mechatronics laboratories, furthermore the Portuguese students had the opportunity to attend regular lessons with their Italian friends. Students also took part in computer, mechatronics and mechanics laboratories created ad hoc by the teachers and fifth year students.
An added value to the success of this European initiative was the participation of Italian families in hosting the Portuguese students, encouraging cultural and linguistic immersion.
Apart from the workshop organized at school, Italian and Portuguese students had the opportunity to visit 2 among the most important companies of our District, Vitakraft Italia and Perugina. The first one is a multinational company operating in the field of pet animals, the second one in one of the most famous Italian chocolate companies.
Additional cultural activities were organized by the Italian partner, such as the Heritage Treasure Hunt in Castiglione del Lago, a bike tour around the Trasimeno Lake and a guided visit of the town of Perugia.
The SYL project, now in its last year of life, sees high school teachers working in collaboration with two Portuguese technology centers to create a Virtual Reality application to be used in the classroom.
