The SYL project targets Generation Z and aims to raise awareness of choosing an industry-based occupation, highlighting today's modern, digital and 'smart' industry.
The goal of the project is sustainability by integrating STEAM education into the curriculum, in an interdisciplinary approach, through which students and teachers are concerned with exploring STEAM education.
The third learning mobility in Romania promotes and tests the final results of the project, the intellectual products made.
A week full of special activities, a varied program that provided a favorable climate for the exchange of experience and the transfer of good practices between the participants.
The first working day started with the opening ceremony organized by our school, the presentation of the partner schools and the participants, a series of knowledge and cooperation games "treasure hunting", to discover some cultural values in the center of Craiova and a workshop based on creativity and VR applications.
The work agenda of the week included a series of events, with participating students and teachers, which are centered around developing the motivation of Generation Z to embrace STEAM-based jobs:
• Robotics workshops in partnership with the County Library, American Corner and "Stefan Odobleja" College Craiova;
• Workshops on programming a collaborative robot, robotics and mechatronics at the research center of UCV Craiova INCESSA;
• Working visit to companies in the shoe industry, the Doros Craiova factory;
• Observation and research visit in the field of the use of industrial technology at the TOP GEL Craiova factory;
• Workshop "The use of robots and VR in the field of security at CIVITAS Craiova;
• Thematic visit "Cultural heritage and digitization";
• Workshops "Extending virtual reality in industry and robotics";
• Open lessons integrating digital, robotics and Augmented Reality in the classroom
In the proposed workshops, innovation, science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics came together in the form of practical and fun activities, projects and learning experiences.
Collaborating in groups, students found solutions to real problems, made decisions, assumed responsibilities, used technological resources and various means of communication. It was a great opportunity to discover the cultural traditions of each country, an opportunity to communicate in English.
In this experience, friendships were made, beautiful friendships that will continue even after the end of the visit.
In the Erasmus program, children from various countries live together for a few days, participate in activities, talk, get to know each other, play. The idea of a social group with an emphasis on the appreciation of cultural differences is encouraged, an activity that complements the knowledge received in school.
