The activities were organized by ThinkYoung Brussels, Belgium.
This activity was attended by more than 40 people, and took place at the
European Business Summit, Egmont Palace.
The SYL project targets Generation Z and aims to raise awareness of choosing an
industry-based occupation, highlighting today's modern, digital and 'smart'
industry.
The goal of the project is sustainability by integrating STEAM education into the
curriculum, in an interdisciplinary approach, through which students and
teachers are concerned with exploring STEAM education.
The event aimed at disseminating and exploiting the Shoes Your Life results,
improving understanding of their use and integration into the European
Education System, as well as presenting all the potentialities of digitalization in
the classroom.
The roundtable brought together educators, industry professionals, and students
to explore how digitalization could be used to improve educational opportunities
in STEAM careers. Discussions revolved around the ways in which technology
could be used to create a more engaging and effective learning environment, how digital tools played a key role in improving access to quality education, and how to better prepare young Europeans to be successful in the future of Europe’s STEAM job market.
Speakers that participated in the discussion:
- Rita Souto Bizarro, Director of the Training and Qualification Department at
CTCP – Centro Tecnológico do Calçado de Portugal
- Guillermo Tosca Díaz, Research Manager at ThinkYoung
